&lt;p&gt;I also don't do the K8 K2tog round.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I've also been doing a worsted weight version of this hat on 105 stitches on US Size 5 needles.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I've also made a hat with Lorna's Laces' sock yarn, and I had leftovers of the skein that I used, if that's helpful to those wishing to estimate their yarn requirements.&lt;/p&gt;
